This week, my boss has been out sick. I have been handling things. Nothing major. We did have to do some discipline. And I did have to hold some product.
Today in our manager's meeting, I explained why we held product and why it happened and what we did about. I also explained our corrective action. I made a point of saying we were not going to brush things under the carpet. Dave, our operations manager, commended me on my actions.
Later I had to explain it all over again to my boss' boss. But I had done everything the right way and he now understands what happened and what we are doing to correct the situation.
Tomorrow is a customer audit. From a big international company. My boss will not be back. I will be conducting the audit. I have done them before. My boss called to check on me and let me know he'll have his computer set up. That way I can reach out to him if I need help. The sales manager is going to be there as well.
I'm a little nervous because I want it to go well and I really didn't have much prep for it. But I will do my best and learn anything I need to learn. I got this.
