Day three of training is completed. It was all about sergers and frankly it had me very nervous. I was dreading this section. But it wasn't bad at all. I rather enjoyed it and my sew out at the end was good.
Tomorrow is the test. Then the business modules as well as some hands on training with oiling and lubricating. We will also be looking at commercial machines and long arms.
I am excited to go home and get to work on of my machines. Killian and I are considering looking for old sewing machines and sergers to work on. We'd fix them up and then sell them.
One of the things we need to do when we get back is to get a business license and set up our business plan. Plus we need to figure out where we are going to work on these machines. Somewhere other than the dining room table. (my dad's favorite place to work on projects) Ideally we would set up a shop out back. But we need to to get a storage building for that and then we'd need to finish the inside of it with electrical, work benches, etc. That will definitely have to wait until bonus time. (if we even get bonuses this year)
Lots of plans to make and practice to get in. Hopefully we'll be coming back next year to do the embroidery machine class.
What plans do you have on the horizon?
